Bacteriostatic Water

Bacteriostatic Water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which acts as a preservative to help inhibit bacterial growth after the vial has been accessed. It is commonly used as a diluent for reconstituting compatible medications or research compounds that are supplied in powdered form. The preservative allows for multiple withdrawals when used and stored according to the applicable product instructions. Bacteriostatic water does not contain an active therapeutic ingredient and provides no therapeutic benefit on its own.
